Terms of Use
By downloading or using ChefLab you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app. (Also: maybe don’t brine a turkey in the bathtub. That’s not in the terms. It’s just a suggestion.)
What ChefLab is
ChefLab is a personal calculator and notebook for home cooking: curing and brining, thermal holds, egg timing, and optional texture/hydrocolloid math. Results are guidance — not lab assays, not medical advice, not a substitute for a calibrated thermometer, and not permission to skip your local food-safety rules. ChefLab is not affiliated with any appliance, scale, or circulator brand.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use ChefLab on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store terms and these Terms.
Purchases
Optional Texture Lab Unlock is a one-time non-consumable In-App Purchase processed by Apple. Payment, refunds, and Family Sharing follow Apple’s App Store rules. Restore purchases from Settings if you reinstall or change devices. Offer codes, when we issue them, redeem in-app — not via a mysterious PDF from a stranger.
Free tier
Cure Lab, Thermal Lab, and Egg Lab calculators remain usable without purchase. Saved projects may be limited on the free tier. Texture Lab is part of Texture Lab Unlock.
Acceptable use
Use ChefLab for lawful personal cooking and learning. Do not present outputs as certified lab results, inspected product, or official government advice. Do not use the app to design food for sale unless you already know what your local authority requires — we cannot do that homework for you.
Disclaimer
ChefLab is provided “as is” without warranties. We are not liable for ruined dinners, over-salted coppa, exploded alginate, undercooked anything, or the existential dread of a six-week dry cure. Taste, measure, keep notes, and when in doubt, throw it out.
